INTRADE MALAYSIA 2010 to be held from 9 to 11 November 2010


Four hundred exhibition booths, an increase of almost 20 per cent, are now open for bookings for INTRADE 2010 for Malaysian businesses to showcase themselves from 9 to 11 November 2010 at the Matrade Exhibition and Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur.

Dubbed as "One World, One Market Place", Intrade 2010 is being organised by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation as an international marketplace for enhanced networking, business matching, exchange of ideas and inspiration amongst the trade community, especially those which are seeking to venture into the global market.

Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry, Dato' Mukhriz Tun Mahathir, officiated the the soft launch of the event at Matrade on Tuesday, 27 April.

A special feature of the event is the Matrade Incoming Buying Mission (IBM 2010) which is one of Matrade's core annual marketing programmes, which is expected to bring in 500 trade buyers from 60 countries to the event for one-on-one business meetings.

Peter Chin Fah Kui launches IGEM 2010 International Green Technology & Purchasing Conference


Dato' Sri Peter Chin Fah Kui, Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water, (centre)chairing a Press Conference after launching the conference call for The International Green Technology & Purchasing Conference at the PJ Hilton on Thursday, 29 April.

The conference will be held from Oct 14 to 17 this year at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre as part of the inaugural International Greentech & Eco Products Exchibition & Conference Malaysia (IGEM 2010)which is being orgnanised by the Ministry to promote green technology together with the Green Purchasing Network Malaysia (GPNM).

The main sponsors of the Conference are Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and ICI Paints (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd.

Present at the launch were Dato' Dr Halim Man, Secretary General of the Ministry, and Tan Sri Datuk Mustafa Mansur, President of GPNM.

ICBC - largest Chinese bank - opens in Malaysia


Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) - the largest commercial bank in China - is now officially open in Malaysia with the launching of ICBC (Malaysia) Berhad by Prime Minister Dato' Sri Mohd Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak at a ceremony held at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday, 28 April.
Present at the ceremony were Tan Sri Dr Koh Ysu Koon, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department; Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz, Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia; HE Mr Liu Jian, Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia; and Dr. Yang Kaisheng, President of ICBC.

Ishak emceed the event with Ms Hong Ju Kee.

PLUS to build new interchange at Sg Buaya


PLUS Expressways Berhad will build a new interchange at Sg Buaya at the 436km North-South Highway between the Rawang and Bukit Beruntung interchanges.
The company's Chief Operating Officer, Puan Nik Airina Nik Jaffar, officially presented the letter of committment to the Director General of Malaysian Highway Authority, Dato' Ir Haji Ismail Md Salleh, in the presence of Prime Minister Dato' Sri Mohd Najib Tun Razak at a ceremony here on Friday, 23 April. Also present was Dato' Shaziman Abu Mansor, Minister of Works, and representative of the residents.
The interchange will facilitate access to the highway for residents in Sg Buaya and the neighbouring areas including Sg Choh, Serendah and North Rawang.
Design work has already begun and construction is expected to begin early 2011 and will take about two and a half years to complete.
The interchange was orginally supposed to be built by the developer of the Sg Buaya township in 1990.

Sharing of experience on emceeing with MPOB Officers








Twenty officers from the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) spent two days learning the fine art of emceeing at the Equatorial Hotel, Bangi on April 21 and 22.
Participants included researchers who are often called upon to emcee seminars that the Board organises on a regular basis.

13th DSA to be held 16 - 19 April 2012



DEFENCE SERVICES ASIA 2012 Exhibition and Conference will be held in Kuala Lumpur from 16 to 19 April 2012. It will be the 13th edition to be held. This was announced today at the thank you reception for DSA 2010.
Minister of Defence, Dato' Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid bin Hamidi, was present at the reception to thank the participants for making DSA2010 a success.

PM launches RapidKL's 1 Malaysia 4-Car Train


Prime Minister Dato' Sri Mohd Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak launched RapidKL's 1 Malaysia 4-Car Train at the Subang LRT depot on 31 March, 2010.
The train represents Syarikat Prasarana Negara Berhad's efforts to support the Prime Minister's 1 Malaysia concept.

The Prime Minister is seen here delivering his speech. Present were Minister of Transport, Dato' Seri Ong Tee Keat, Prasarana's Chairman Tan Sri Izzuddin Dali, Prasarana's MD Dato' Idrose Mohamed and Ministry of Transport's Deputy Secretary General Dato' Yap Kin sian.
