CIMB Asia Pacific Classic MALAYSIA 2010

The CIMB Asia Pacific Classic MALAYSIA 2010, the first tournament sanctioned by the PGA Tour in Southeast Asia, opened with a ProAm tournament at the Mines Golf Resort in Kuala Lumpur on Oct 27.

The event to be held from Oct 28 - 31 will feature an international field of 40 players competing for a US6 million prize purse with the winner taking home US1 million.

5th Islamic Conferenced of Ministers of Higher Education and Scientific Research

Malaysia's Minister of Higher Education Malaysia, Dato' Seri Khaled Nordin played host to the conference which was organised by the Islamic Scientific, Educational and Cultural Organisation (ISESCO)under the auspices of the Organisation of Islamic Conference.

MIM confers Honorary Fellowship Award on Prime Minister

Prime Minister Dato' Sri Mohd Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak (photo below) delivering his acceptance speech after being conferred the Honorary Fellowship Award by the Malaysian Institute of Management at a gala dinner held at the Istana Hotel in Kuala Lumpur last night.

It is the highest award by MIM to distinguished individuals for their leadership achievements. Todate 14 others have received similar awards.

MIM's President Tun Mohamed Hanif Omar presented the award to the Prime Minister.Present was Datin Sri Rosmah Mansor.

PM launches Buy Malaysian Products Expo 2010 @PWTC

Prime Minister Dato' Sri Mohd Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak officially launched the Buy Malaysian Products Expo 2010 at the Putra World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur today (Thursday, 17 June 2010).

The Expo which is organised by the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism is part of the Buy Malaysian Products Campaign launched in 2009. Present was Dato' Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob, Minister of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism.

HDC's Arabian Night Annual Dinner

Staff of the Halal Industry Development Corporation (HDC) and their spouses took time off to let their hair down at their "Arabian Night" annual dinner at the Sime Darby Convention Centre on Saturday, 22 May 2010. Present to welcome them were Chairman Tan Sri Dato' Dr Syed Jalaludin Syed Salim and CEO Dato' Seri Jamil Bidin. Singer Yassin entertained the crowd.

The Art of Emceeing at Securities Commission Malaysia

A one-day workshop on "The Art of Emceeing" was conducted for 12 staff members of the Securities Commission Malaysia on Monday, 24 May 2010.

Ishak shared his experience with the participants to help them sharpen their skills as they are regularly called upon to emcee events in the organisation.

The objectives of the workshop were to help participants understand the basic techniques of emceeing and to build their confidence in performing the task.

Rosmah completes 100PLUS One Million Signature Campaign

Jamil Bidin weds Sue Mahara

Halal Development Corporation's CEO, Dato' Seri Jamil Bidin, with his bride, Datin Seri Sue Mahara, with main table guests at the wedding reception at the Holiday Inn Glenmarie Kuala Lumpur Hotel on the night of Saturday, 1 May.

The guests were Tun Abdullah bin Haji Ahmad Badawi and Tun Jeanne Abdullah (seated flanking the couple), and (standing) Dato' Sri Khalid Mohamed Jiwa and Dato' Siti Nurhaliza, Dato' Mukhriz Tun Mahathir and Datin Norzita Zakaria, Puan Sri Dr Noraini Abdul Aziz and Tan Sri Dr Sulaiman Mahbob and Tan Sri Dato' Dr Syed Jalaludin Syed Salim and .

Two hundred and fifty friends and relatives attended the reception.

Ishak had previously also emceed the weddings of Dato' Mukhriz and Datin Norzita as well as Dato' Sri Khaled and Dato' Siti Nurhaliza.

INTRADE MALAYSIA 2010 to be held from 9 to 11 November 2010

Four hundred exhibition booths, an increase of almost 20 per cent, are now open for bookings for INTRADE 2010 for Malaysian businesses to showcase themselves from 9 to 11 November 2010 at the Matrade Exhibition and Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur.

Dubbed as "One World, One Market Place", Intrade 2010 is being organised by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation as an international marketplace for enhanced networking, business matching, exchange of ideas and inspiration amongst the trade community, especially those which are seeking to venture into the global market.

Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry, Dato' Mukhriz Tun Mahathir, officiated the the soft launch of the event at Matrade on Tuesday, 27 April.

A special feature of the event is the Matrade Incoming Buying Mission (IBM 2010) which is one of Matrade's core annual marketing programmes, which is expected to bring in 500 trade buyers from 60 countries to the event for one-on-one business meetings.

Peter Chin Fah Kui launches IGEM 2010 International Green Technology & Purchasing Conference

The conference will be held from Oct 14 to 17 this year at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre as part of the inaugural International Greentech & Eco Products Exchibition & Conference Malaysia (IGEM 2010)which is being orgnanised by the Ministry to promote green technology together with the Green Purchasing Network Malaysia (GPNM).

The main sponsors of the Conference are Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and ICI Paints (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd.

Present at the launch were Dato' Dr Halim Man, Secretary General of the Ministry, and Tan Sri Datuk Mustafa Mansur, President of GPNM.

ICBC - largest Chinese bank - opens in Malaysia

Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) - the largest commercial bank in China - is now officially open in Malaysia with the launching of ICBC (Malaysia) Berhad by Prime Minister Dato' Sri Mohd Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak at a ceremony held at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday, 28 April.
Present at the ceremony were Tan Sri Dr Koh Ysu Koon, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department; Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz, Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia; HE Mr Liu Jian, Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia; and Dr. Yang Kaisheng, President of ICBC.

Ishak emceed the event with Ms Hong Ju Kee.

PLUS to build new interchange at Sg Buaya

PLUS Expressways Berhad will build a new interchange at Sg Buaya at the 436km North-South Highway between the Rawang and Bukit Beruntung interchanges.
The company's Chief Operating Officer, Puan Nik Airina Nik Jaffar, officially presented the letter of committment to the Director General of Malaysian Highway Authority, Dato' Ir Haji Ismail Md Salleh, in the presence of Prime Minister Dato' Sri Mohd Najib Tun Razak at a ceremony here on Friday, 23 April. Also present was Dato' Shaziman Abu Mansor, Minister of Works, and representative of the residents.
The interchange will facilitate access to the highway for residents in Sg Buaya and the neighbouring areas including Sg Choh, Serendah and North Rawang.
Design work has already begun and construction is expected to begin early 2011 and will take about two and a half years to complete.
The interchange was orginally supposed to be built by the developer of the Sg Buaya township in 1990.

Sharing of experience on emceeing with MPOB Officers

Twenty officers from the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) spent two days learning the fine art of emceeing at the Equatorial Hotel, Bangi on April 21 and 22.
Participants included researchers who are often called upon to emcee seminars that the Board organises on a regular basis.

13th DSA to be held 16 - 19 April 2012

DEFENCE SERVICES ASIA 2012 Exhibition and Conference will be held in Kuala Lumpur from 16 to 19 April 2012. It will be the 13th edition to be held. This was announced today at the thank you reception for DSA 2010.
Minister of Defence, Dato' Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid bin Hamidi, was present at the reception to thank the participants for making DSA2010 a success.

PM launches RapidKL's 1 Malaysia 4-Car Train

The train represents Syarikat Prasarana Negara Berhad's efforts to support the Prime Minister's 1 Malaysia concept.

Ishak continues to record voice-overs (VOs) as and when he is invited to do so. He was back in the studio again recently for Daihatsu Malaysia Sdn Bhd at the invitation of the company's MD, Mdm Belinda Lim.

F & N - Red Bull deal

Ishak Nengah was today part of F & N Beverages Sdn Bhd's historic moment when he emceed the company's signing ceremony of the sales and distribution agreement for Red Bull with Allexcel Trading Sdn Bhd.

With the agreement F & N Beverages will now be responsible for the sales and distribution in Malaysia for Red Bull, the number one energy drink in the country.

Signatories of the agreement were Mr Tan Ang Meng, CEO of Fraser & Neave Holdings Berhad and Mr Jirasak Samathivathanachai, MD of Allexcel Trading Sdn Bhd. F & N Holdings Berhad's Chairman, YAM Tengku Syed Badaruddin Jamalullail and Mr Visuit Chiemkitchavarote, GM of International Business, TC Pharmaceutical Industries Co Ltd signed as witnesses.

Ishak later moderated the Press Conference which was held immediately after the signing ceremony.
