Piala Seri Endon 2011

Lorraine Hahn and I emceed the grand finals of the Piala Seri Endon (PSE) 2011 fashion category at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre yesterday (Sunday, 11 December 2011).

Seri Paduka Baginda Raja Permaisuri Agong, Tuanku Nur Zahirah, was in attendence. It was one of the last public functions she attended before returning to Kuala Terengganu with SPB Yang DiPertuan Agong today after completing their five-year term as King and Queen of Malaysia.

Also present were Tun Abdullah Haji Ahmad Badawi and Tun Jeanne Abdullah, Puan Nori Abdullah, Chairman of Yayasan Budi Penyayang Malaysia, the organisers of the event, and Dato' Leela Mohd Ali, the CEO of Penyayang.

PSE was iniatied by the late Tun Endon Mahmood as part of the Malaysia Batik: Crafted for the World Movement to help promote Malaysian batik.

Lorraine and I have been emceeing the event since it started in 2003.

Our outfits were designed by Von Jolly Couture, made up of the tag team of uncle and nephew, Raymond and Aaron, winner of the PSE in 2005.

The PSE was one of the many events organised by Yayasan Budi Penyayang Malaysia this year as part of the on-going efforts to promote batik under VIVA Malaysia Batik which was launched by Dato' Seri Ng Yen Yen, Minister of Tourism on Nov 20 at MATIC in Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur.

I emceed that event with Peggy Ng.
